Faculty and staff volunteers are needed to participate in the Mason Dream Catchers program. Dreamcatchers is a university-wide partnership with the Fairfax County Public Schools and Prince William County Public School divisions that provide hope for capable at-risk youth enrolled in alternative, non-traditional education programs.

Chris DiTeresi was named associate vice president for research integrity and assurance at George Mason University, where he provides leadership and strategic direction for the Office of Research Integrity and Assurance and its six major compliance programs.

Mason’s new policy for Instructional/Research (I/R) faculty on conflict of commitment, University Policy 4021: Outside Professional Activities and Conflict of Commitment, took effect on September 1. This policy and disclosure process are intended to comply with new federal regulations expanding disclosure and reporting requirements for outside activities.

George Mason University staff member Kathy Zimmerman was recently recognized by Liaison, the company that supports TargetX and Salesforce, for her significant contributions to the higher education community.

Laurence Bray, associate provost for graduate education and leader of the Graduate Division at George Mason University, has been elected to serve as president of the Virginia Council of Graduate Schools (VCGS). Bray will succeed current VCGS president Jeannine Perry, Dean of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies at Longwood University, on July 1, 2023.

The new Graduate Division, directed by Associate Provost Laurence Bray, plays a lead role in preparing well-rounded and diverse graduates to contribute to research productivity and workforce development.

Megan Bruening was recently named George Mason University’s Director of Fellowships, supporting both undergraduate and graduate programs. Bruening joined the Mason community as the assistant director of graduate fellowships in 2021 and had been serving as interim director for the past several months.
