CVPA faculty

  • Mary Lechter, (BA University of Maryland) is a graduate of University of Maryland, College Park with a BA in Theater and Speech Communications, Mary has been working professionally as an actor since 1985 in the Metropolitan Washington area, Los Angeles, and New York.

  • Amanda has been teaching college-level courses for 13 years in video editing, sound recording and mixing and post-production. 

  • Dr. Yoonji Kim, pianist, currently teaches keyboard skills and is a member of the applied piano faculty at Mason. Born in Seoul, Korea, Dr. Kim moved to United States of America at age fifteen to study.

  • Billy Kessinger is the Audio Supervisor at the Center for the Arts at Mason's Fairfax campus.

  • Jeffrey Kenney is Associate Curator for Mason Exhibitions and the School of Art. Kenney is responsible for coordination of art exhibitions and related programming for the Gillespie Gallery of Art in the Art and Design Building (Fairfax), the Buchanan Atrium Gallery at Buchanan Hall (Fairfax), and the Buchanan Partners Gallery at the Hylton Performing Arts Center (Manassas).

  • Maria Karametou is a mixed media artist who has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally including at The Ludwig Museum for International Art, Aachen, Germany; The Vorres Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens, Greece; The National Gallery of Foreign Art, Sofia, Bulgaria; Apartman Projesi, Istanbul Turkey, among many others.

  • Dr. Mark Jenkins began his musical studies on the euphonium at the age of 11 in his home state of Nevada. During his early studies, he was awarded top honors at state, regional and international solo competitions, including the Nevada Governor’s Scholarship to attend the prestigious Interlochen Fine Arts Camp in Michigan and 1st prize at the 1996 Leonard Falcone International Tuba and Euphonium Competition.

  • Dr. Seth Andrew Hudson is an Assistant Professor of Game Writing in George Mason University’s Computer Game Design Program, situated in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Read more...

  • Prof. June Huang is the Director of Strings and Associate Professor of Violin at the Dewberry School of Music. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in applied violin, chamber music, and string pedagogy.

  • Jesse Guessford received a BS in music education from West Chester University, a Master of Music in music composition from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, and a DMA in music composition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
