Campus Notice

Contractors will mill, pave, and restripe the Cannon Parking Lot and a section of the Beacon Hall Parking Lot at George Mason University's Science and Technology Campus on Friday, June 13, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

George Mason University will test the outdoor speaker system on the Fairfax Campus on Friday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to noon. The speaker system is located at Horizon Hall and west campus. A series of messages will be broadcast from the speakers during the test.

Sidewalk closures will go into effect on Holton Plaza on Monday, May 19, to facilitate the replacement of the pedestrian bridge between the Music/Theater Building and the de Laski Performing Arts Building.

Heavy traffic is expected on and around George Mason University's Fairfax Campus for regional community college and high school graduation ceremonies at EagleBank Arena from May 12 through June 16, 2025.

George Mason University Spring Commencement will take place on Thursday, May 15, at 9:30 a.m. in EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus. Separate Degree Celebrations will honor school and college graduates from Wednesday, May 14, through Saturday, May 17, at the Fairfax Campus. Expect heavy traffic on and around campus. Multiple ceremonies will occur each day at the Fairfax Campus.

George Mason University will celebrate Mason Day on Friday, April 25, from 3–10 p.m. on the Fairfax Campus. The event will feature a carnival and performances. Expect increased traffic on and around the Fairfax Campus. The event will take place from 3–10 p.m. in Parking Lots L and A (near EagleBank Arena).

Contractors will complete tree work around the Fairfax Campus from Monday, March 10, through Friday, March 14.

The loading dock at the Johnson Center will be closed on Friday, March 7, 2025.

Renovation work in the atriums of Buchanan Hall, Horizon Hall, and the Johnson Center on the Fairfax Campus will start on Friday, Dec. 20. The projects will include the installation of additional guard rails on upper levels.

The Arlington County Fire Department, with assistance from George Mason Police, will conduct a training exercise in unoccupied spaces in Vernon Smith Hall on Friday, Dec. 13, between 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
