Professor Amarda Shehu of the College of Engineering and Computing’has been named a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows “for pioneering contributions to computational biology and bioinformatics.”

George Mason University’s Amarda Shehu and Leah Adams were among 12 Virginia educators honored by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) as 2022 Outstanding Faculty Award recipients, the council announced Thursday.

An interdisciplinary team of researchers received $1 million from the United States Department of Homeland Security for a study aimed at detecting criminal disruption of supply chains.
