Patriot Pitch Competition

This year’s inaugural session of Camp Costello gets underway Wednesday, August 20 and concludes Friday, August 22. Over 100 first-year business students have registered for this opportunity to connect with their peers, academic advising and career services resources within the college, and Costello faculty, staff, and alumni—all before the start of fall semester classes.

A George Mason University Systems and Industrial Engineering (SIE) capstone team was recognized for a new way of looking at the Hexayurt, a rugged, hexagon-shaped structure made from flat, triangular panels that can be quickly assembled in areas hit with natural disasters.

On April 10, eight final student and alumni teams—two from each track—pitched panels of entrepreneurs at 2025 Patriot Pitch competition, organized by the Costello College of Business.

The Patriot Pitch Competition returns to George Mason’s Fairfax Campus on Thursday, April 10, with the opportunity for all current George Mason students and recent alumni, who have innovative business ideas or early-stage business ventures, to successfully launch their own businesses.

George Mason Systems Engineering and Operations Research students took first place in the Systems and Analytics Track of the Sage Memorial Design Competition and first place in the STEM Track of the Patriot Pitch Competition with their plan to deliver supplies to a hard-to-reach island in the Chesapeake Bay.

During her time at Mason, Mason alumna Shrishti Singh has used all the tools the university provides to bring her discovery to the marketplace.

The Patriot Pitch Competition, presented by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship within the Donald G. Costello College of Business at George Mason University, takes place on April 11, 2024 on Mason’s Fairfax Campus and is open to all Mason students (graduate, undergraduate, and PhD) and recent alumni regardless of field of study.
