Julie Hudson, executive assistant to Dean Mark J. Rozell at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University, played an integral role in maintaining the school’s operations during the pandemic and has demonstrated exceptional flexibility as her position evolved over the years. For her leadership and outstanding work ethic, Hudson is being recognized as the December Employee of the Month.

George Mason University recognized faculty and staff for their years of service at the University Day Service Awards this week.

Jacquelyn (Jackie) Nash is the associate director for George Mason University Undergraduate Education's University Studies Program and has been a part of the department since 2008. From teaching the first UNIV College to Career course in 1998 to her responsibilities today, she has been an essential part of University Studies.

Yali Pan, associate director for engagement and assessment in George Mason University’s Office of International Programs and Services (OIPS), started at George Mason in 2020. For her contributions to supporting international students, dedication to fostering an inclusive campus culture, and commitment to student well-being, Pan is recognized as the October Employee of the Month.

Tyrone Johnson has worked as the clinical laboratory manager in George Mason University’s Student Health Services (SHS) for the past two years. For his dedication to putting students at ease, his work ethic, and his positive impact on the office overall, he is being recognized as the September Employee of the Month.

Telecia Taylor has been an integral part of the George Mason University Honors College since 2019. Now the assistant director of student programming and engagement for the college, she has been awarded August Employee of the Month for her dedication to fostering community and providing support for her students.

Stacey Ellis, faculty and staff engagement program manager in George Mason University’s Human Resources, has received the 2025 Higher Ed HR Rock Star Award from the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR).

Joy Sobieralski, the financial reporting manager in Fiscal Services, is the June Employee of the Month. 

George Mason University welcomed 229 “Junior Patriots” to its campuses on April 24 for the annual Take Your Junior Patriot to Work event. Faculty and staff had the chance to bring the children in their lives to campus and experience life at George Mason for a day.
