    The Honors College invites guest speakers to share their expertise with students. One such speaker was Andrew White, a Mason alum and author of "Hell Followed with Us," a Young Adult novel that addresses issues of transgender legislation. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn from his experiences. This is just one example of the many opportunities for students to connect with experts in their fields.

    Dr. Amal Amireh is an Associate Professor of English and World Literature at George Mason University. She received her BA in English literature from Birzeit University in the West Bank and her MA and PhD in English and American literature from Boston University. Before joining George Mason University, she taught at An-Najah National University and Birzeit University (both in West Bank/Palestine). Dr. Amireh is an author and co-editor of several books and her writings on Arab women and Arabic literature have appeared in various journals and edited collections
