Early Identification Program (EIP)

Biology major Spogmai Ahmadzai joined Mason's EIP in 7th grade and took advantage of all the resources it has to offer. Now she is a University Scholar at Mason preparing for a career in health care.

Kimberly Montesflores Gonzalez already had a strong relationship with George Mason University before she enrolled as a freshman this fall.

Mason’s Honors College and Early Identification Program (EIP) promote access to inclusive excellence. EIP serves first-gen high school students and offers programming such as the College Application Coaches program. EIP alumni entering the Honors College are awarded full tuition scholarships. The partnership strengthens EIP’s mission of educating the whole student and advances the Honors College’s commitment to increasing access to transformative academic, civic, and professional experiences.

One May 24, 27 Mason EIP graduates joined the ranks of Mason alumni this year, along with 130 graduating high school seniors celebrating their EIP graduation, as part of EIP’s 32nd graduating class. More than 2,100 students have graduated from EIP since it began in 1987.

Honors College student Noel Quezada came to Mason through the Early Identification Program and credits EIP with much of his success.

George Mason University is seeing a steady increase in research awards, fall enrollment numbers and in its number of graduates, based on reports to the Board of Visitors at their May 4 meeting.

Mason’s new Youth Research Council (YRC) is a research partnership between the Center for Social Science Research (CSSR) in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and Mason’s Early Identification Program (EIP), which invites ninth through twelfth graders into the field of social science research.

Mason’s Early Identification Program (EIP), a college-prep program for first-generation students, received $10,000 from the Women’s Club of Great Falls Scholarship Fund to establish a scholarship in the club’s name.

A double major and member of the Honors College, Juan Escalera came to Mason as an alumnus of the university’s Early Identification Program.

For 35 years, Mason’s Early Identification Program has been helping Northern Virginia middle and high school students prepare for their future college careers.
