On November 3, the Costello College of Business at George Mason University marked its second-year naming anniversary in the most meaningful way—by giving back. The Annual Day of Service honored this milestone as a proud tradition, reaffirming Costello’s commitment to creating positive change and strengthening the campus community through acts of service.

The Center for the Arts will be collecting donations from November 11 through December 14. for the Patriot Pantry, which provides non-perishable food and hygiene items to currently enrolled George Mason students through University Life’s Student Support and Advocacy Center.

During the week of October 28 to November 1, the Costello College of Business celebrated its first naming anniversary and began an annual tradition of providing service to the local community.

George Mason University’s Patriot Pantry, in cooperation with the Capital Area Food Bank, is delivering groceries to food-insecure Mason students and their families.

Led by the Office of Annual Giving, Mason Vision Day 2023, held on April 6, highlighted the challenges posed by student food insecurity—which is a growing issue at Mason and at college campuses across the nation. This year, Mason Vision Day raised $290,000 for Mason causes with nearly $90,000 dedicated to student food insecurity.

Ben VanHook addressed a UN forum on the goals of neurodivergent people this month. He’s trying to gain not just acceptance but appreciation of autistic individuals such as himself.

Up to one-third of students nationally are impacted by food insecurity. During the past three years, Mason has seen a 172 percent increase in student use of the Patriot Pantry.
