    Biography

    Victoria Ellison (Tori Ellison) is a mixed-media artist who creates prints, paintings, sculpture, and installation art. A MacDowell Colony, Virginia Center for Creative Arts, Blue Mountain, Women’s Studio Workshop, Jentel and Brushcreek Foundation fellow, she has exhibited in 11 states and abroad, including Portland Art Museum, Bellevue Art Museum, Seattle University’s Hedreen Gallery, Seattle Art Museum Gallery, NYU’s Grey Art Gallery, New York’s PaineWebber Art Gallery, Salt Lake Art Center, and Winston Wachter Gallery, Seattle. Her work is in the collections of the cities of Inglewood (LA) and Seattle, Paul Allen’s Vulcan Enterprises, the Jordan Schnitzer Print Collection, and Portland Art Museum.

    She studied at Cranbrook, University of Washington sculpture department, Reed College (BA in Art/Art History), and New York’s School of Visual Arts (MFA). She has edited and written about art for the Guggenheim Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Seattle WeeklySeattle Times, Oregonian, and Artweek, as well as designed sets, costumes, and large-scale puppets for the Fisher Ensemble operas, performed in Seattle and at the Judson Memorial Chapel, New York. Ellison has taught at Pacific Northwest College of Art, Tyler School of Art, Bellevue Community College, and was the Director of the Hoffman Gallery, Oregon College of Art and Craft.
