Biography
Rose Pascarell is Vice President for University Life at George Mason University where she works on campus climate, student engagement, and student success. Pascarell oversees student support and services for Mason’s graduate and undergraduate, full-time and part-time, and residential and off-campus students.
With a focus on student access, success and overall well-being, Pascarell’s areas of oversight range from housing and student health; to international programs and recreation; to diversity initiatives and new student and family programs; to counseling and psychological services and student involvement.
Ms. Pascarell has held several leadership positions at Mason previously serving as Associate Vice President for University Life, Associate Dean for Campus Life, and Associate Director of the Women's Studies Research and Resource Center. She has taught in the School of Integrative Studies, Sociology, and Women’s Studies academic units. In her role as a Chief Student Affairs Officer, Pascarell served on the James E. Scott Leadership Board for the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) from 2012–2018. In March 2021, she was recognized at the NASPA and NASPA Foundation Awards Ceremony as a 2021 Pillar of the Profession, annually awarded to distinguished individuals who have served as leaders, teachers and scholars in student affairs and higher education.
She earned a bachelor of arts in sociology, criminology, and conflict analysis at the State University of New York at Albany and her master of arts in sociology from George Mason University.
