Biography
Paula Darling is an adjunct professor within the marketing area in the Costello College of Business. Darling holds a PhD in Business from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech, an MBA from Averett University, and a bachelor’s from Auburn University.
Darling’s research interests are on consumer finance, consumer psychology and business analytics. She has 20 years of work experience in financial services analysis and data modeling across financial products. Her research explores consumer finance, consumer credit, and the results of unemployment on consumers and their financial well-being. It recommends a model relating to consumer attribution and emotions in the context of self-efficacy, finding new employment, and improving the consumer’s financial position and well-being after job loss.
