Biography

An adjunct instructor in the Schar School of Policy and Government, Marie (Carasco) Saul is an organizational behavior scholar-practitioner with international multi-sector experience connecting psychological principles to business and organization issues. Her research lies at the intersection of leader development and identity work, and she is interested in how people experience change. Her contributions have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Human Resources Development Review and in academic textbooks by Routledge Taylor & Francis Group. She is the coauthor The Essential HR Guide for Small Businesses & Startups, published by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Saul’s practitioner expertise is in high-potential leader development and appreciative approaches to managing change. As a former director of talent strategy and engagement, she has served as a trusted advisor to c-level leadership teams guiding task forces for large-scale global change initiatives and applied research projects in the aerospace, oil and gas, government consulting, and education sectors. She serves as the chief social scientist and founder of Talent en Floré LLC, a black-owned consulting practice.

Saul teaches Organization Theory and Management Behavior in the Schar School, and also teaches graduate-level courses in the areas of leadership in organizations, managing diversity in the global economy, and group processes at The City University of New York - Brooklyn College as an adjunct assistant professor. She has taught Organizational Development and Change, Managing Groups and Teams, Human Capital Management, and Human Resources Law at Azusa Pacific University as an assistant professor of human resources and organization development.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The City University of New York - Brooklyn College; a master’s degree in nonprofit management from The New School; a master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology from The City University of New York - Brooklyn College; a master’s degree in business administration, organizational behavior and coaching from the University of Texas at Dallas; and her doctoral degree in workforce education and development from The Pennsylvania State University.
