Biography

Dr Kubik is a professor in the School of Nursing. She is a behavioral epidemiologist and advanced practice nurse with over 20 years of community-based primary care practice experience as a nurse practitioner. She has a long history of funded research, with a focus on low-income and minority populations. Her research focus spans childhood obesity, adolescent health and health promotion and disease prevention  across the lifespan. Her work advancing the understanding of the school food environment has informed school nutrition policy at national and international levels. She has published over 140 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Kubik is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and served as a member of the US Preventive Services Task Force (2018-2022). She has a BSN from Hampton University, MSN from the University of Pennsylvania and PhD from the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health.
