Biography
Dr. Madina Khamzina is a public health educator and researcher dedicated to advancing health equity, digital inclusion, and lifelong learning among older adults and diverse communities. While at the University of Maryland she lead workshops and community-based programs to strengthen digital literacy and technology engagement for seniors.
Dr. Khamzina earned her Ph.D. in Community Health from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she contributed to NIH-funded interventions for older adults and caregivers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she adapted and delivered digital skills training both online and in person, working closely with senior centers and clinics to expand outreach. She also holds an MPH in Health Policy & Management from Boston University and a BA in Health Policy Studies from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Her professional background spans international and clinical research settings, including roles as a Public Health Researcher at the National Laboratory Astana in Kazakhstan and as an Epidemiology Analyst at Boston Children’s Hospital. In these roles, she contributed to projects aimed at improving community health and reducing disparities.
Beyond her academic career, Dr. Khamzina actively engages in community programming. She has co-developed digital health guides, facilitated wellness classes for older adults, and served as a guest speaker on senior digital literacy. She is also the author of “Successful Aging: A Practical Guide for Those 40+)” reflecting her commitment to promoting healthy aging.
Fluent in English and Russian, Dr. Khamzina brings a global perspective to her work, combining expertise in health education, research, and community engagement to empower individuals to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
