Mercedes Allsop

Mercedes Allsop serves as Executive Assistant and Strategic Initiatives Lead in the Dean’s Office at the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University. In this dual role, she provides executive-level support to the Dean while driving strategic initiatives that advance the School’s mission, partnerships, and long-term priorities.

As Strategic Initiatives Lead, Mercedes works at the intersection of strategy and execution, helping translate leadership vision into actionable, high-impact initiatives across the School’s academic, programmatic, and global engagement efforts.

A United States Marine Corps Veteran, Mercedes previously held leadership roles spanning recruiting, internal controls, finance, and enterprise operations, including work in the Middle East supporting stabilization and post-conflict rebuilding. She brings a cross-sector background across higher education, nonprofit organizations, information technology and cybersecurity, finance, and national security.
