Biography
Kelly Wentland is an assistant professor of accounting in the Costello College of Business at George Mason University. Prior to coming to Mason, she was an AICPA Accounting Doctoral Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her primary research interests are in taxation, accounting information, and firm decision making. She has published in The Accounting Review, Management Science, the Journal of the American Taxation Association, and the Journal of Housing Economics. Before entering her PhD program, she completed her bachelor’s in accounting and mass communication at Miami University of Ohio and worked in KPMG’s Washington, D.C., and Tysons Corner, VA offices first in audit and then in tax. She holds a Virginia CPA license (license active 2008-2019; expired status since 2020).
