Biography
Kanadpriya Basu, PhD, is a Founding Partner of ArrowsUP Innovation, an AI technology-inspired medical management company, and the Director of International Partnerships at the Institute of Breast Disease.
Kanad is also a Professor of the Practice in Data Science and Operations at the USC Marshall School of Business and Adjunct Faculty at the Costello College of Business at George Mason University. He is a data science leader with more than eighteen years of experience spanning academia, industry, and applied research.
Basu’s work focuses on generative AI, machine learning, and large-scale predictive analytics. He has led data-science organizations in startups and Fortune 1000 companies, delivering solutions in NLP, computer vision, and transformer-based modeling. As Principal Scientist and Partner at ArrowsUP Innovations, he guides AI strategy and product development for healthcare and enterprise clients.
Previously, he served as Head of Data Science at Sense360 @ Medallia, where he managed a global team and built a behavioral intelligence platform widely across industry. His earlier roles at Covisus, SnackNation, and MFour involved developing production-grade predictive models, securing federal defense grants, and advancing computer-vision systems for product authentication.
Basu designs and teaches advanced courses that connect modern AI methods with real business applications. His research and publications span applied mathematics, intelligent systems, healthcare analytics, and high-frequency financial modeling, with work appearing in Springer, Wiley, Physica A, and Data (MDPI). He organises South Asia's most reputed AI & emerging tech conference, International Conference on Data Management, Analytics & Innovation (ICDMAI) 2025 & 2026. He is also an editor of the conference proceedings of ICDMAI, published by Springer.
He holds a PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics from the University of South Carolina.
