Biography

John D. Sullivan is an independent consultant and recently retired as the founding Executive Director of the Center for International Private Enterprise. He served on the 1983 democracy program study that created the National Endowment for Democracy. Previously, John worked at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, on the President Ford Election Committee, and in minority business development.   He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the Russian Institute of Directors. His Ph.D. is from the University of Pittsburgh.  He is the author of a number of publications on corporate governance, business ethics, and private enterprise development including “The Moral Compass of Companies:  Business Ethics and Corporate Governance as Anti-Corruption as Anti-Corruption Tools,” available on the IFC website.
