Biography
Jeanne Booth joined the Social Work Department as Assistant Professor in the fall of 2019 after serving as Adjunct Professor since 2016. She joined the department with over 29 years of experience providing clinical and administrative social work practice in a variety of areas including housing, justice, mobile crisis intervention work, child welfare services, aging, and developmental disability services. Her professional experience includes 20 years in local government as well as 10 years providing hospital-based psychiatric social work and clinical social work in community nonprofit agencies.
She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by both the Virginia Department of Health Professions and Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners and received her MSW from the University of Michigan with a focus on Community Organization and Interpersonal Practice and a BA in Psychology from Agnes Scott College.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors for APAH (Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing). Professor Booth has taught clinical and policy courses in both the BSW and MSW programs. Previously, she served as the Department of Social Work’s Community Program Manager and focused on supporting the departmental community, developing and sustaining community partnerships and opportunities for engagement as well as continuing education.
