Biography

Angkul Kongmunvattana has over 20 years of working experience in higher education at various institutions across the country (University of Minnesota at Twin Cities, University of Nevada in Reno, Columbus State University, Clayton State University, and University of North Georgia) before joining George Mason in 2024. His teaching experience includes developing and delivering both undergraduate and graduate-level courses in CS, ECE, CYBR, and IT programs. His core areas of research interest are parallel and distributed systems, computer architecture, and performance optimization. He has supervised one doctoral dissertation, ten master theses, and numerous undergraduate capstone projects. His research work was supported in part by Altera, Sun Microsystems, NSF, and USGS. Kongmunvattana also has administrative experience in serving as a chairperson in Georgia for 3 years, managing both departmental personnel and operating budgets as well as being responsible for completing annual program assessment reports for five academic programs to satisfy SACSCOC accreditation requirements.
