Biography

Aminat Gbadamosi is an Assistant Professor of Statistics. Gbadamosi earned her PhD in Statistics and Analytics from Central Michigan University and completed her first degree in Mathematics with honors from Lagos State University, Nigeria. Her teaching style fosters a deep understanding of statistical concepts through active learning and practical application. She incorporates hands-on activities, real-world data analysis, and interactive discussions into her classes, ensuring that students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Aminat's research interests include Big Data Analytics, probability distributions, Risk Management, and Insurance. For her dissertation, she developed two statistical distributions specifically for modeling heavy-tailed data, addressing critical challenges in accurately predicting and managing extreme events.

She teaches Introductory Statistics I (STAT 250) and Probability and Statistics for Engineers and Scientists I (STAT 344) for the department.
