Biography

Alejandro J. Álvarez is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology, College of Engineering and Computing. He previously worked as an information technology consultant throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area concentrating in the areas of information security, information assurance, Unix system and software development. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). His research interests focus on the improvement of solar flare prediction, machine learning, data mining, algorithm development, and information security.
