Biography
Born and raised in Washington DC, Kelly Thomas is a multi-disciplinary theatre artist, technician, and educator. She earned an MFA in Contemporary performance from Naropa University in Boulder Colorado and her BA in Theatre from George Mason University in Fairfax Virginia. She served as the creative and technical director of the Stafford High School Theatre Department from 2004 to 2009, and was an active artist and instructor with Acting for Young People since 2003. Currently, she is teaching theatre and performance at Pine View High School, Dixie State University, and The Stage Door, in Southern Utah. She also serves as the Co-Artistic Director of The Space Between Theatre Company, in St. George Utah, where she works to bring fearless theatre to southern Utah. As an artist and performer, she continues to work on her devised solo piece titled: "Insert Desired Title Here," while also working collaboratively within her community to discover new and creative forms of theatre. She wishes to share her passion for the arts, and use theatre as a vehicle to fuse multi-cultural and socially diverse populations to promote positive societal changes in our world.
