The Hylton Performing Arts Center’s Anniversary Gala serves not only as a night for artistic celebration, but also a night to commemorate the contributions of our devoted community. This year, we are honoring three individuals who fully embody a concoction of artistic excellence, soaring passion, and community. We are beyond proud to recognize Sheyna Burt and Thomas Sabal and Daniel Tucciarone for their support, dedication, and so much more.
If she were a part of a theater, Sheyna Burt would be the house lights—a bright, shining presence that illuminates all who bear witness. Everyone who has the pleasure of getting to know her instantly feels her warmth. As an attorney, Sheyna’s professional and philanthropic journey is anchored in performance, leadership, and possibilities.
A violinist since childhood, Sheyna believes that the arts can change how people see themselves and their potential. That belief led her to the doors of the Hylton Center, where she has served as a board member, board chair, and now immediate past chair. For Sheyna, the Hylton Center embodies what can happen when a community chooses collaboration.
Thomas Sabal and Daniel Tucciarone built their passion for the arts in a different way——Tom through classic works featured in childhood cartoons and Dan through design and architecture. This passion has taken them around the world, from Russia's Bolshoi Ballet to the stages of Buenos Aires. Despite visiting the best stages the world has to offer, Dan and Tom found something unique at the Hylton Center: community. They were moved by students with remarkable talent, passionate faculty members, and venues that feel like home. For Dan and Tom, philanthropy is a way to ensure Northern Virginia’s cultural landscape flourishes for generations.
