With the forecast calling for inclement weather starting on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 24, it is required that all George Mason resident students with surface parking permits relocate their vehicles into the ungated general permit areas of the Rappahannock (levels 1-3) or Shenandoah Parking Decks (levels 1-4) starting Friday, Jan. 23, at 6 a.m. and before 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24.
Any vehicles remaining in surface parking lots after 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, are subject to towing at the owner’s risk and expense to assist snow removal efforts.
Please note that the rooftop levels of the Rappahannock, Shenandoah, and Mason Pond parking decks will be closed to parking beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23.
A valid George Mason parking permit is required to park in the general permit area of the Rappahannock (levels 1-3) or in the Shenandoah (levels 1-4) parking decks. Vehicles without a valid George Mason parking permit may park in designated visitor areas by paying the posted visitor rate.
Once the Facilities team has completed work in the surface parking lots, Parking Services will send a follow-up email with instructions on when vehicles may be returned to their authorized locations.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as these measures are necessary to ensure safety during inclement weather.
Stay updated on the current weather impacts.
