Road closures will be in effect on the Fairfax Campus on Saturday, Oct. 18, during the George Mason 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run. The Fun Run starts at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 5K at 8 a.m.
The races start and finish on Mason Pond Drive near Holton Plaza, between Buchanan Hall and the Center for the Arts. The following road closures will be in effect:
- Intermittent lane closures around Patriot Circle during the race.
- Mason Pond Drive will be closed between Patriot Circle and Mason Pond Deck from 5:45–9:30 a.m. Access to the parking deck will be available from Aquia Creek Lane.
- Campus Drive will be closed between Rapidan River Road (by the softball stadium) and Patriot Circle from 7–9 a.m.
- University Drive will be closed at Patriot Circle on the east side of Rappahannock Parking Deck from 7–9 a.m. Vehicle traffic will be detoured onto Patriot Circle in front of the parking deck.
- Global Lane will be closed between Mason Pond Drive and Campus Drive from 7–9 a.m.
- The PV Lot will be closed from 7–9 a.m. Vehicles can remain in the parking lot, but there will be no access to enter or exit the lot.
