The world’s reaction to the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel remains as unsettled as ever even as tensions continue to rise throughout the Middle East. On Tuesday, October 15, at 7 p.m., the Michael V. Hayden Center for Intelligence, Policy, and International Security at the Schar School of Policy and Government presents a timely discussion live and in-person at George Mason University’s Mason Square auditorium in Arlington, Virginia.
The event, October 7th Fallout: One Year Later, is open to the public free of charge but registration is required at this page. An online broadcast is available.
“This conversation is vital,” said panelist Marc Polymeropolous, a former senior CIA operations officer and MSNBC national security analyst. “We need to rethink so many of our previous assumptions on the region and I would argue that there is no conventional wisdom any longer…This is certainly not the Middle East that I served much my career in.”
Joining Polymeropolous on the Van Metre Hall stage is Ambassador Dennis Ross, former senior Middle East diplomat and peacemaker, and current senior scholar at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, and Nancy Youssef, national security correspondent and military and Middle East expert for The Wall Street Journal.
Hayden Center senior fellow David Priess, a former CIA officer, will moderate the discussion, which will be followed by a reception.
