Patriot Connect launches program website

George Mason University has launched the Patriot Connect program website, a key resource to support the transition to a new system of engagement for the student journey.

The site features the platform’s rollout timeline, project updates, details about how the system works, and resources for faculty, staff, and students. It’s the latest milestone in a multi-year effort to implement Patriot Connect.

The Patriot Connect program began in January 2024 with the goal of creating a unified system to help students manage applications, get personalized communications, and access services like advising and coaching throughout their time at George Mason. Over the past year, the program has moved from early planning and design stages to building the platform. Key activities have included establishing program norms, understanding the university’s current operations, and onboarding critical stakeholders into the project’s planning and implementation. 

The platform was designed to address George Mason’s specific needs, with a focus on improving the student experience. The system is currently being developed and will enter a testing phase once the build stage is complete. After testing, impacted faculty and staff will receive training ahead of the April 2025 launch.

Training for Patriot Connect will begin in March 2025, with a comprehensive curriculum and resources rolled out over time to support a smooth transition. Notifications for live training opportunities will be sent to supervisors in advance, depending on role requirements. Some roles may not require live training until April 2025 or later. New to Patriot Connect?   

At George Mason, using separate platforms for critical services like recruitment, admissions, academic advising, and success coaching has led to a fragmented experience for students, staff, and faculty. George Mason will transform the student lifecycle experience by replacing disconnected platforms with a new university-wide system of engagement called Patriot Connect. Starting at the beginning of the student journey, Patriot Connect will serve as a centralized online tool for students, offering support from application to graduation. Patriot Connect will enable students to manage their applications, receive personalized communications, schedule appointments, and access essential student support services including academic advising, student success coaching, and learning services. Patriot Connect is more than a new system of engagement—it's a vision to ensure George Mason delivers a distinctive and inclusive student experience that fosters lifelong engagement with the university.
