When summer turns up the heat, Prince William Little Theatre will be ready with their production of 110 in the Shade (7/12–7/14; 7/19–7/21), a musical with lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt. Based on the hit play and movie The Rainmaker, 110 in the Shade visits Three Point, a hot and drought-stricken town in the southwest. Lizzie, a local spinster, is having an equally onerous drought in her love life. A mysterious stranger Starbuck arrives on the scene, who might be able to bring on the rain in both.
“Our heroine, Lizzie, had nothing but good old fashioned human interaction to help her find a possible suitor," Don Peterson, the production’s co-director, said. “The story of 110 takes place in a simpler time and place and serves as a reminder that the basic needs of home and family and love still prevail, providing many of us with true happiness. I hope you find our show filled with lots of love and laughter and leave filled with the joy of the story and uplifted by the incredible music and the performances of our amazing cast.”
Susy Moorstein, the production’s co-director shared, "We all have choices in life. To make choices we need to believe in something or someone. 110 is about people making choices to believe in miracles."
