Ali Weinstein, professor of Global and Community Health and Senior Scholar in the Center for Advancement and Well-Being, has been elected as a Member-at-Large in the Society for Health Psychology (SfHP), a division within the larger American Psychological Association (APA).

“I have a good working understanding of the Society and I understand the importance of service from membership in order to keep it going strong,” Weinstein said. “It was an honor to be elected by my peers for this position.”

Weinstein has always been involved with SfHP, considering it one of her “home” professional organizations as a health psychologist. She has held various committee and leadership positions with SfHP in the over 15 years she has been associated with the organization, including acting as chair of the Health Research Council for six years. Last year, she received the Barbara A. Keeton Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of her service to SfHP.

The Member-at-Large position is a three-year term that will begin after the APA conference in early August 2024.
