The IRS is hiring accountants and engineering professionals for our Revenue Agent and Engineer positions in the Washington DC area!

About the event:

We are hosting a two-day, in-person hiring event for our entry-to-senior career level Revenue Agent positions and mid-career level Engineer positions in the Washington, DC area. We will be reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and making offers on-the-spot to qualified individuals.

About the Revenue Agent position:

As a Revenue Agent, you will use your skills in accounting to plan and conduct examinations or make determinations on various federal tax matters. These examinations may be performed in the field or in a centralized office setting, working with taxpayers, their representatives, certified public accountants, and tax attorneys. Your duties will vary based on the area you are assigned and will cover a broad range of tax and business issues. Our Revenue Agent positions focus on specific tax matters for individuals, and small, large and international businesses as well as tax exempt and government entities. You will be working to help fund the Nation!

To qualify for the Revenue Agent position:

You must meet basic education and experience requirements as shown in the job announcements below.

All Revenue Agent candidates must meet the following basic requirement. You must have a:

• Certificate as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting, or

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in another field other than accounting or a combination of education and experience that includes at least 30 semester hours in accounting or 24 semester hours in accounting and 6 semester hours in a related subject.

Additionally, you may have to have at least one year of specialized experience as defined in the job announcements. We will qualify you for the highest grade level based on your experience and skills.

During this event, we will be reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and making job offers to qualified applicants. If selected, you'll be able to complete several pre-employment steps, such as fingerprinting; this process can take 3-6 hours. Remember to create a USAJOBS account and bring:
