The next evening, don’t miss the Creative and Performing Arts Center’s Langston Hughes’ Black Nativity (12/4). If you’ve never experienced this soul-stirring classic, don’t wait another year! This joyous musical depicts the first Christmas through the lens of African-American culture, articulated by Langston Hughes’ poetic narrative, scripture, diverse music genres, and powerful dance. Prince William Little Theatre transports you inside the courtroom for the trial of the century – The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge (12/9 -12/11; 12/16 -12/18). After a year of miraculous transformation, Scrooge seems to be back to his old ways: he’s suing Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future! Manassas Symphony Orchestra (MSO) commemorates the 20th edition of its annual family concert in Explorations (12/10) by taking listeners on a musical journey with a world premiere by Manassas composer Ben Bernstein’s work based on award-winning author and New Yorker cover artist Bob Staake’s new book, "The Path." Soloist John Ross, a senior violist at Patriot High School performs Weber’s Andante and Rondo Ungarese, op. 35. Closing the concert is the MSO’s exclusive colorful Music and Light Show Spectacular!
