Internships with Washington Performing Arts

Washington Performing Arts offers internships throughout the year that are geared toward undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates. Applicants should be highly motivated, creative and hard-working individuals with an interest in all aspects of arts management. It is preferred that applicants have previous office experience, strong organizational skills, effective writing and communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to learn quickly and to take initiative. Each internship at Washington Performing Arts is tailored to the interests and strengths of the intern. Washington Performing Arts interns leave our offices with a better understanding of arts management, a knowledge of artists in a variety of fields, professional contacts, practical experience, and a portfolio of work. All applicants must have a high school diploma – see position descriptions below for further information and specifics.

Our volunteer interns are eligible for a stipend of $500 upon completion of an average of 15 hours per week for at least 12 weeks during the fall and spring internship semesters. Summer semester interns must complete an average of 15 hours per week for at least 9 weeks.
