Mount Olivet United Methodist Church in Arlington, VA is seeking a Keyboard/Choral Scholar, who supports the music ministry by playing piano for the youth choir and singing with the adult choir. The individual occasionally accompanies the children’s choir and adult choir and provides organ or piano music for worship. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills, time management, and team orientation, and must support and collaborate with volunteer musicians.
The Keyboard/Choral Scholar is expected to attend all rehearsals and worship services from September 11 through May 28, with notice provided for all absences up to four (4) rehearsals and four (4) worship services per year. This consists of a weeknight choir rehearsal on Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00 p.m., plus Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This is a part-time, salaried position requiring approximately 8-10 hours per week. Salary of $4,000-6,000 per nine-month program year is negotiable according to the skills, experience, and individual circumstances of the candidate.
