As the Hylton Center prepares for stars of stage and screen Jane Lynch and Kate Flannery on December 5 at 7 p.m., we’d like to share a little more about this comedic dream duo, their original New York cabaret show Two Lost Souls, and how it came to shape their holiday performance, A Swingin’ Little Christmas.

Jane Lynch met comedian and singer Kate Flannery in the late 1980s at the Annoyance Theater comedy troupe in Chicago. But it wasn’t until they were both living in Los Angeles, that they started performing together at charity events on and off throughout the years, which eventually led to touring together. Known fondly as “the Rat Pack with a couple of broads,” Lynch and Flannery premiered Two Lost Souls at New York’s Café Carlyle in September 2018. The show’s title comes from the song of the same name that Flannery suggested they first perform, and features the popular songs from the late ‘50s and early ‘60s that both women grew up on, plus new compositions and laugh-out-loud jokes. Two Lost Souls also features their friend and musical director Tony Guerrero whose band will accompany Lynch and Flannery at the Hylton Center on December 5! and Tim Davis rounding out the vocal trio. Their holiday edition of their New York cabaret came to life on one of their Christmas tours — an idea put into action by Tony Guerrero, who arranges all of Lynch and Flannery’s music. Thus, A Swingin’ Little Christmas was born, consisting of traditional seasonal favorites from the ‘50s and ‘60s, along with original music and big band flair. Broadway World wrote, “it sure is great that these two lost souls (Lynch and Flannery) found one another and that they brought their weird, funny friendship onstage, too.”

Tickets are nearly sold out for the chance to see these two comedic icons!
