For the second year in a row, George Mason University has the highest ranked Master of Public Policy program in the Washington, D.C. area, according to a survey conducted by GraduatePrograms.com. Mason was one of only two Washington, D.C., area schools that made the ranked list of top 25 public affairs programs in the country. Mason’s Public Policy (MPP) program, housed in the Schar School of Policy and Government, ranked 11th nationwide.
Mason’s graduate International Affairs programs ranked even higher, coming in at #8 nationally. The Schar School of Policy and Government, and International Affairs offers programs in International Commerce and Policy, International Security, and Peace Operations.
GraduatePrograms.com ranks the best graduate programs in the country in a variety of fields based solely on ratings and reviews from current or recent graduate students posted on the GraduatePrograms.com website.
According to researchers for the website, “George Mason University offers a wide variety of graduate programs for scholars looking to further their education. With more than 200 doctoral, master’s and certificate programs available to students, there is a program for almost anyone seeking to gain knowledge in their chosen field.”
Mason’s proximity to Washington, D.C., allows it to educate its students while giving them access to the U.S. capital, the website added.
One 2015 graduate of Mason’s public policy program wrote on the website: “I have just completed my first semester at Mason. I can say that I am satisfied with what the school has to offer. It is delivering on what was originally promised—I do believe my education here will be beneficial for my future endeavors. … ”
