It is hard to have consensus in almost anything, yet climate change has practically all the scientists on board. They readily believe, with strong evidence to support it, that not only is climate change happening, but it is caused by human activity. The effects of climate change have already been significant and irreversible on the Earth, affecting all of humanity. Those effects are intensifying and accelerating.
Schar School Associate Professor Todd M. LaPorte, who researches and teaches climate science and policy, recently presented a sample class for prospective students. LaPorte also works in the field of environmental protection. In his lecture, he not only discusses how climate change occurs, what the evidence for it is, and why it is important, but also what we can do to correct it.
