Mason participates in Earthquake Drill on Thursday, Oct. 15

Each October, George Mason University participates in the Great Southeast Shakeout Earthquake Drill. This year the drill will be held at 10:15 a.m. Thursday Oct. 15.

This voluntary drill and test of the Mason Alert emergency notification system is designed to promote awareness of earthquake response procedures.

Everyone registered for Mason Alert will receive a notification at 10:10 a.m. Thursday. Participation is voluntary but encouraged.

Information on how to prepare for and respond to an earthquake is available in the Earthquake Preparation and Response Guide and will be included in the Mason Alert earthquake drill notification.
