80% of graduates from CHHS reported positive career outcomes.
According to data from George Mason University’s 2018-2019 Career Plans Survey, 80% of graduates from the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) reported positive career outcomes. Positive career outcomes include full-time or part-time employment, graduate school, military service or post-graduate internships and fellowships. The survey was conducted among students who graduated from Mason in August 2018, December 2018 and May 2019.
Additionally, the survey reports that 90% of employed graduates reported having full-time positions and 86% said their positions related to their career goals. A majority of CHHS graduates pursue work in the health care industry. Students within the college are provided various opportunities for hands-on work and research that prepares them for post-graduate careers.
16% of employed graduates reported learning about their positions through networking, referrals from faculty and announcements from departments and programs. The data also shows that the median salary for undergraduates is $51,000 and $70,700 for graduates.
A total number of 367 undergraduate students and 203 graduate students responded to the survey, accounting for nearly 70% of CHHS graduates.
