Where are you from?
I’m from Burke, Virgina. I’ve lived in Fairfax County since I was 5.
When do you plan to graduate?
I plan on graduating in 2022 with my BFA, but also intend on starting my accelerated masters in Arts Management in my senior year, so I have a few more years of school ahead of me.
What area are you focusing in (performance, education, design, stage management, directing, etc)?
I'm currently focusing on performance but have aspirations to move into directing and arts management.
What do you want to do after graduating?
I plan on completing my masters in Arts Management. I also intend on auditioning around the DC theatre scene and hopefully landing a job at a theatre so that I can support myself and continue to work in the field I'm most passionate about.
What play would you recommend the Friends read?
Everyone should read Fences. It’s one of my favorite pieces of theatre.
What difference has this scholarship made for you?
This scholarship has helped enormously in relieving some of the stress that paying for a college education brings on. Being educated is incredibly important to my family and so gaining any assistance that allows me to continue my studies is a blessing.
What made you want to come to Mason?
The faculty and location were a driving force for me. My professors are all working in the field and truly know their craft and being in such close proximity to one of the best theatre cities in the country is amazing. While our theatre department is growing and developing I don’t feel like just another number, I feel like my faculty values my success.
What School of Theater productions have you worked on?
At this point I’ve worked on a few such as Big River, Mason Cabaret, Merrily We Roll Along, Twelfth Night, Br’er Cotton (Collection For The Culture), Mason Originals. Even during quarantine and online learning our department is producing staged readings such as The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, which I was a part of.
What are you most looking forward to doing after social distancing has ended?
I can not wait to get back onstage! I get really antsy when I don’t get to work on a production. And of course, giving all my friends hugs,
What is your favorite musical?
Honestly, Shrek The Musical. You’d be surprised at how great of a show it is. Pippin is a close second.
What is your dream role or production to direct, design, or stage manage?
I would love to play Cory in Fences or Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar.
