Mechanical Engineering Department partners to teach teachers about engineering

George Mason University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering is partnering with the Office of Naval Research and the non-profit organization Engineers on Deck to offer a free training day for science, math, and technology teachers.

The free workshop on cyber, logic and coding, circuits and robotics, and engineering applications will be held virtually on June 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Participants will learn project-based applications and teaching strategies that are scalable to the grade level they teach.

“The workshop brings K-12 educators together so they can learn new and innovative skills in science, technology, engineering, and math fields so that they can teach technological literacy to their students,” says Oscar Barton Jr., chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
