George Mason University added to its burgeoning status among the world’s elite universities with its latest rankings in the fields of engineering and technology and computer science in the Times Higher Education’s 2019 World University Rankings that were released on Wednesday.
Mason, the largest public research university in Virginia, ranked in the 401-500 category in engineering and technology and in the 301- 400 block for computer science. There were 1,008 schools included in the engineering and technology ranking and 749 in the computer science category. Schools are listed by individual rank from 1-100 and then alphabetically in the blocks.
Subject-specific rankings from The World University Rankings are aimed at helping students to better determine where to study. Each university in the rankings has a detailed profile, with a breakdown of its overall score and supplementary data designed to help students.
Times Higher Education has annually provided its list of the world’s best universities since 2004. Working in consultation with many of the world’s leading academic institutions, its experts rate universities in what call essential areas of performance indicators such as teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
