Veterans Day Luncheon

The Office of the President and the ROTC unit at George Mason University invite all Mason community members who have proudly served the country to attend the Annual Veterans Day Luncheon.

The event will take place on Friday, Nov. 8, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall, Main Lobby. Following the luncheon on Grand Tier III, guests are invited to a 30-minute Patriotic Concert presented by the School of Music’s Tuba Euphonium Ensemble.

PatriotHacks Hackathon

PatriotHacks 2019 is a collegiate hackathon held at George Mason University. For 36 hours, students from around the world will convene at the MIX (Mason Innovation Exchange) to enjoy workshops, activities, and networking events while working on real world challenges during the hackathon.

Swag and awesome food will be available throughout the weekend.

PatriotHacks is a space for innovators to play, learn, and revolutionize technology, all while building their resume and making memories to last a lifetime. No experience is required, and the event is open to college students of all disciplines. Plus, it’s 100% free!

Collaborative Learning Hub Open House

Join the CLUB (Collaborative Learning Hub) for an open house on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Room 311.

This event will feature Blackboard demos, individual consultations, information about Linkedin Learning, and tours of our virtual reality/3D printing space (Th3 BuilD).

MasonCARES Suicide Prevention Training

Counseling and Psychological Services hosts MasonCARES, a two-hour “gatekeeping” training on suicide prevention.

Attendees will learn why people attempt suicide, how to talk to somebody about suicide, how to respond to a person in crisis, warning signs, myths about suicide, and how to make a referral.

Volunteer Opportunity: Parking Appeals Board

Parking and Transportation is seeking faculty/staff volunteers to serve on Mason's Parking Appeals Board.

October Biking Classes at Mason

Celebrate autumn on your bike! Develop new skills or enhance your existing biking skills, culminating in a terrific ride from the Fairfax Campus to Burke Lake Park and back.

  • Saturday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Social Ride with FABB from Mason to Burke Lake Park and back, $10*
