The George Mason University men's and women's basketball programs tipped off the 2019-20 season at Mason Madness on Friday, Oct. 18, at EagleBank Arena. This year’s tipoff featured performances from Doc Nix and the Green Machine pep band, the Masonettes, Mason cheerleaders, and Urbanknowlogy 101, Mason's first hip-hop dance crew. In addition, Mason fans were treated to a performance by the nationally known master of Simon Sez Steve Max and a show by Air Elite, the official dunk team for the NBA's Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards.
