The Office of the Provost is pleased to announce the third opportunity for faculty to transform curriculum, have an impact on students, and offer opportunities for students to have an impact in the world through the Curriculum Impact Grants.
For the 2019-2020 cycle, teams of faculty, staff, and/or administrators are invited to design innovative multidisciplinary curriculum at either the undergraduate or graduate level. The provost's office will help you create scaffolded, intentional programs that incorporate experiential learning and build on the strengths of our faculty across units. You are encouraged to create programs that are flexible, expand students’ understanding of local and global challenges, and teach them the tools to address these issues.
Proposals involving any curriculum change that includes Mason Impact (at the undergraduate level) or experiential learning (at the graduate level) are encouraged. Priority in this cycle will be given to programs (majors, minors, and master’s programs) with low enrollment looking to revitalize their program by collaborating with other units in a multidisciplinary fashion.
As part of this process, Undergraduate Education (in collaboration with Graduate Education, the Stearns Center, Global Education, OSCAR, University Libraries, and others), will offer a Curriculum Impact Grant workshop on Friday, April 5. The workshop will cover details about the grants and the Mason Impact, encourage attendees to envision transformational programs, and provide teams the time and guidance to build a proposal.
Attendance is open to individuals who are looking to learn more about Mason Impact and want to talk with others about partnerships, teams who are exploring the opportunities for curricular development, and groups who are preparing their proposals. Please register here.
