Each April for the past 23 years, University Life, Mason Athletics and Mason Police and community sponsors honor the legacy of former student-athlete, Aimee Willard, with a Victims' Rights Run/Walk. Willard was a Mason soccer and lacrosse player who was murdered in Philadelphia while on her way home from a night out with her friends. “Aimee’s Law” gained U.S. Senate approval as an amendment to the Juvenile Justice Bill and was signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 2000. It seeks to punish states that release convicted murderers, rapists or child molesters if those felons commit another violent crime in the future. Check out the photos of the Victims' Rights Run/Walk taken by Evan Cantwell.
