Mason alumni, students, faculty and staff will celebrate Homecoming Week Feb. 18–24 beginning with the Tip-Off Party on Monday night and concluding with men’s and women’s basketball games the following weekend.
Sponsored by the Patriot Activities Council, Mason Athletics, Student Involvement and the Alumni Association, this year’s “Brave & Bold”-themed celebration will get under way with the Tip-Off Party on the main and top levels of the Hub, on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will feature arcade games, a DJ, Homecoming T-shirts for students and food catered by Coyote Grille—one of more than 25 Fairfax City businesses participating in Homecoming this year as part of the “Patriots in the City” partnership.
Other campus community events include a movie night, day of service, Spirit Fest, a performance by comedian Preacher Lawson, a lip sync battle, and the Block Party + Spirit Tent. The block party will take place in Lot K on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 1 to 3:30 p.m., prior to the men’s basketball game against Duquesne in EagleBank Arena at 4 p.m.
One of the most anticipated events for Mason graduates is the Indoor Alumni Tailgate hosted by the Alumni Association, held in the Hub Ballroom on Saturday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The event will feature tastings of beers, wines and spirits made by alumni and friends of the university; arcade games and billiards at the Corner Pocket and other family-friendly activities.
Homecoming Week concludes with the women’s basketball game against Dayton at EagleBank Arena on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m.
