There was a method to Mason Madness

The George Mason University men's and women's basketball teams can only hope they are as successful as the annual Mason Madness event that officially opened the 2018-19 season.

More than 3,000 people were in attendance Friday at EagleBank Arena for the introductions of the teams and a whole lot of fun. The women's team put on a skills session while the men had a three-point shooting contest won by senior guard Otis Livingston II.
The Green machine, considered the nation's No. 1 pep band, rocked the crowd, and routines were performed by the Patriot dance and cheer programs and Mason's Urbanknowlogy group.
Creative Services photographer Evan Cantwell was there to capture it all.
