Mason camp gives high schoolers a taste of nursing

At its core, the nursing camp for high school students put on by Mason’s School of Nursing was about introducing basic concepts of nursing in health and health care delivery. But that didn’t preclude campers from getting hands-on simulations in small group projects in areas such as forensic nursing, nutrition and infection control. Campers also received information about the nurse as a researcher, the role of nursing in community settings and nursing globally.

Creative Services photographer Bethany Camp was on hand on the Fairfax Campus as campers learned about the variety of careers and roles that nurses play in the health care field.
